709 Illawarra Road Longford Tasmania Build

With views of Mount Barrow, Mount Arthur, and Millers Bluff on this rural property surrounded by cattle fields. There was a deal of thought put into the positioning of the house, to maximise the sunlight and to take in the surrounding scenery.

Working with the owner it was made clear early on that we would be building a farm-style house. This is achieved by using modern products both internally and externally while having a soft white colour scheme to enhance the Tasmanian oak hardwood floors.

The cladding for the walls was chosen early on in the project using the James Hardy linear board for the weatherboard look and its Hardy nature in long jeopardy.

Internally there are many features using Axon panelling on walls throughout the house. We obtained the water-resistant Axon panelling for the bathroom areas, which allowed us to achieve the look the owner was chasing. Curved gutters and Gable ends are a feature of the external of this house, along with their tiled outdoor area which we created. A large server window and the outside bench have been constructed, so the owner can enjoy a meal with a glass of wine all while being able to interact with guests in the kitchen area.

Other key features are brushed gold fixtures, an integrated gas heater and to have a main TV in the living area with kitchen benches to soften the looks of the surrounding area. The house runs on mains power biocycle and water tanks which are fed from the house and work shed.

The powder room bathroom areas were designed to be simple yet stunning. By using Easy V-Jay ultra panelling, custom-made vanities, curved mirrors, and strip lighting we were able to achieve this look. The tiles in the shower base wall add a seamless look which is enhanced by the stylish tile selection and white trims.

The owners had a clear vision of the style of house they were looking for, and we worked with them to transform their vision into reality. For us, this house was an absolute pleasure to build, and we formed a great relationship with the client working closely together on the project.
